Question 1: How often does my caravan need servicing?
Answer: I recommend a service annually, although, a van may not of been used much, brakes, tyres and water ingress problems can sometimes be more prevalent in little used vans, regular checks prevent larger bills ultimately.

Question 2: How often should I change my tyres?
Answer: In my experience some tyres can show early signs of perishing at around 3 year of age, but in any case should be changed at 5 years.

Question 3: Any tips on draining the water system?
Answer: On the last trip of the year, before setting off back home, remove the drain plug or release lever and open all taps including shower, as the van moves about on the way home all the water will drain away.

Question 4: How can I check to see if my battery is charging?
Answer: Disconnect one battery lead from the battery, plug in the mains lead and switch the charger on. You should still be able to switch the 12v lights on if the charger is working.

Question 5: When I arrive on site and switch my fridge to 12v it will not freeze, what should I do?
Answer: The 12v fridge only works when the grey 12s plug is connected to the car and the cars engine is running.

Question 6: How often should I change my water filter?
Answer: The filter is designed to last 30 days of use, but recommend to change at least annually.

Question 7: I am looking to buy a secondhand caravan, the van does not smell damp, will it be OK?
Answer: The caravan internal walls are covered with a non porous vinyl, this tends to trap the moisture and smell inside.  The only way to tell for sure is with a damp meter assessment.

 Question 8: How should I care for my battery?
Answer: The electrolyte level should be checked twice a year, the battery should be charged for 24 hours every 30 days.  Do not store your battery on a concrete floor, as the lead in the concrete will drain the power, place on a piece of plywood or workbench.

Question 9: My Cascade 2 water heater will not heat the water on electric, why?
Answer: There is a re-set button on the back of the water tank accessed from inside the bed box.

Question 10: Why does my Fanmaster fan only blow cold air?
Answer: There Is a re-set button on the rear of the unit, accessed from behind the fire, it is on the left hand edge of the black plastic cowling.
